Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of the company’s network and systems in the Network Operations Center (NOC).
Proactively identify and troubleshoot network and system issues, working to resolve them in a timely manner to minimize downtime and impact on operations.
Perform regular network and system monitoring, including analyzing logs and alerts, and taking appropriate actions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Handle incident management by logging, categorizing, prioritizing, and escalating issues as necessary, and providing timely updates to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve complex network and system issues, escalating to senior engineers or vendors when needed.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and backups, following established procedures and best practices.
Create and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Assist in the implementation and configuration of network and system monitoring tools and technologies.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network operations, and make recommendations for improvements.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, SolarWinds).
Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
Familiarity with firewall and security technologies (e.g., IPSec, VPN, IDS/IPS).
Understanding of server and system administration (e.g., Linux, Windows Server).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Good communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
