NOC Engineer

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of the company’s network and systems in the Network Operations Center (NOC).
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot network and system issues, working to resolve them in a timely manner to minimize downtime and impact on operations.
  • Perform regular network and system monitoring, including analyzing logs and alerts, and taking appropriate actions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Handle incident management by logging, categorizing, prioritizing, and escalating issues as necessary, and providing timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve complex network and system issues, escalating to senior engineers or vendors when needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and backups, following established procedures and best practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist in the implementation and configuration of network and system monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network operations, and make recommendations for improvements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with firewall and security technologies (e.g., IPSec, VPN, IDS/IPS).
  • Understanding of server and system administration (e.g., Linux, Windows Server).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
